Nominee for ISU Alumni Representative

It’s time to elect a new alumni representative to the board of trustee of ISU. I am honored to be one of the two nominees who obtained the highest number of votes and therefore qualified for the second (and last) round: Please check out my proposals below, “Let’s get Serious”:

Proposal #1:Upgrade current annual ISU Gatherings (SSP & IAC)

Have you ever participated to an Alumni Conference during an SSP? Many of us travel long distances to see our classmates and hopefully meet  a couple of other alumni. Limited time, budget, logistic difficulties sometimes discourage us to participate. As an experienced event manager, I would like to facilitate alumni gatherings during SSP & IAC in order to increase professional networking opportunities, and ensure that everyone gets enough food and beverages 😉

Proposal #2: Create new Alumni networking opportunities

Given the exponential growth of space events besides the large annual conferences, I wish to use my database ( to create links between existing national ISU alumni associations in order to organize more gathering opportunities.

Proposal #3: Increase Alumni visibility via ALMO

I wish to introduce a section on the ISU web-page highlighting an Alumni Of The Month (ALMO) to make the professional networking more interesting. This would allow Alumni to discover more success stories and provide potential points of contacts tailored to specific interests expressing the diversity of jobs available across the space sector.

Proposal #4: Keep track of Alumni requests

I wish to keep a record of the various demands, suggestions or complaints expressed by the Alumni during the year. For this matter, I would propose to ask support from the national alumni associations’ boards if existing. If not, I wish to facilitate the creation of new associations.

What makes Halit a good representative?
